Well enough of the local eats, lets talk about the resort. For example, I needed new tires for the Jeep, so a quick trip up Interstate 10 put me at the Discount Tires store in Tucson and while there I visited some of the local stores, stopped by Walgreens and had a great dinner. If you do need the big city Tucson or Sierra Vista can be reached within about 30 minutes depending on where you are going. The Apple Fritters (my weakness) are huge (I think they way 2lbs), taste fantastic and I could not get enough them. The lady that runs this place personally makes each donut. A few I would recommend is Magaly’s Mexican, Wild Dogs, R&R Pizza and if you are a Donut fan don’t miss Benson Donuts. What it lacks in big chain restaurants it makes up with its local and unique eateries. ![]() It does however have many modern shopping opportunities such a Walmart, Safeway and Ace Hardware and has a few popular fast food joints, such as Wendy’s, KFC, Mc Donald’s, Little Ceasers, Subway and Taco Bell for that quick bite. The City of Benson where the park is located is a quaint railroad town absent of any large major food chains (i.e. In other words scenic and quiet! Getting to know Benson, AZ Valley Vista is the southern most Encore Resort in Arizona and distant from a thriving metropolis. I first arrived in Arizona a couple days before Thanksgiving Day and my first stop was the Valley Vista RV Resort in Benson, Arizona. I have enjoyed being a member and it has saved me a lot of money therefore I was anxious to get to Arizona and utilize my membership. 1000 Trails/Encore which I am a member alone has 20 RV resorts in Arizona, with a high concentration around Yuma (7 parks) and the greater Phoenix Area (9 parks). ![]() ![]() Arizona is well known as a snowbird destination and its plethora of RV parks.
